Dear Dennis,

Tinnitus can be caused by many things - candida, injury to the cilia in the cochlea, perforated eardrum, nerve damage, bacterial infection, viruses, etc..

We have had good success with ozone ear insufflation. In one case, the eardrum regrew after being perforated for 30 years.

Dear Dr. Saul,

For tinnitus I assume you recommend ear insufflation...is that right?

For how long and how frequently?

You mention that tinnitus usually requires nerve regrowth. Can you say what causes tinnitus?

You also mention that healing with ozone therapy is a slow process. Can you say how long it might typically take?

I've had tinnitus for years.

As always, thanks for your help,

Roger

Dear Roger,

Tinnitus may be due to candida in the middle ear; nerve damage; bacteria; arteriosclerosis; high blood pressure; allergies or drugs.

Treatment consists of ear insufflation daily for 5 minutes per ear at 1/32 l/m for two weeks; increasing to ten minutes per ear for two weeks; increasing to 15 minutes per ear and maintaining at that level. Concentration of ozone should be anywhere from 30 ug/ml to 60 ug/ml.

Best of health!
