Dear Saul,
Are your saunas save for a heart patient that has 1/3
of his heart damaged due to previous heart attack?
Does the heat have any effect on the heart, when in
the sauna?
Thanks,
Gail

Dear Gail,
When there has been damage to the heart, we must be careful with application
of heat.
I would start the person off with ozone delivered by other methods, and then
only after
a period of a few weeks, introduce the ozone sauna. The first half dozen
sessions should
be at low heat (about 101 degrees, controllable on the front panel), and for
only 15 minutes
duration. After a dozen sessions, the temperature can be increased a bit,
and the sessions
lengthened progressively.
The application of hyperthemia will actually help the heart to repair, as it
provides a low-stress
cardiovascular exercise, by the dilation and subsequent contraction of the
blood vessels, which
results in varying demands on pumping. As long as caution and the gradual
ramp-up procedure
is followed, there is little danger, and positive benefit. Over time, the
heart will strengthen, and
regain some, or all, of its lost function. We have seen this happen time and
again.
A proper nutrition program is also a necessity, and this is covered in my
book "The Owner's Manual for the Human Body", available by email free for the asking.
Best of health!
