Dear Keith,

Hypothyroidism means the thyroid is not putting out enough thyroid hormone. It causes low energy level, sensitivity to cold, weight gain and skin coarsening. Hypothyroidism can be caused by many different things:

1) lack of iodine : eat sea salt and sea food
2) parasite infestation : do a parasite cleanse
3) lack of precursors for thyroid hormone thyroxin: ozone therapy can help somewhat
4) insufficient production of thyroid-stimulating hormone from the pituitary gland
5) a goiter, which is an enlargement of the thyroid due to over- or underactivity or iodine deficiency

Thyroid glandulars are a good treatment for this problem. Also, there are homeopathics for thyroid as well.
