Dear Linda,
Thank you very much for posting all the good information on fats and
oils and the keto diet. I am an Udo fan as well.
Interesting what you say about insulin. Have you followed up on the idea
of pancreas support?
The Islets of Langerhans in the pancreas produce four secretions:
Glucagon, from alpha cells, which increases blood sugar level
Insulin, from beta cells, which reduces blood sugar level
Somatostatin, from delta cells, which controls rate of absorption of nutrients from the blood stream
Picolinic acid, necessary for zinc absoprtion
Of course, zinc is required to absorb vitamins, especially Vitamin C
There is a herb from India, called Shardunikha (Gymnemna sylvestre) that
Dr. Williams says causes regrowth of the Islets of Langerhans after they
have been damaged by drugs or pasteurized homogenized cow's milk.
Also, chromium and vanadium are insulin helpers.
The other secretions of the pancreas are:
Trysinogen and chymotrypsinogen, converted in the duodenum to trypsin:
breaks down protein; breaks down fibrin in blood clots; dissolves cancer
tumors
Lipase : breaks down fats (involved in the keto diet)
Amylase : breaks down starches
Maltase: converts maltose into glucose
Sodium bicarbonate : neutralizes gastric juice.

Let me ask a question, please, if you know. We've heard that Gynmena, I
think is its spelling, is much better than drugs but how much should a
diabetic take initially? Obie.

Dear Obie,
It is Gymnema sylvestre.
Take one per day for one week,
then one morning and one evening.
