Herniated Discs and Ozone therapy

Dear Sandy,

Funneling over the discs at 1/32 l/m daily for several months will probably cause the discs to regenerate. We have had a couple of cases of that now.

Italian doctors have pioneered a method of injecting ozone into the discs, but this is risky, because you don't want to stick a needle into the spinal cord! They use realtime X-ray to let them see where they are, but why expose yourself to radiation? The funneling technique works, albeit more slowly.

If you could rig up a device to funnel the area while he is in the ozone sauna, that would hurry things up. Taping a clear plastic bag around the area, and then putting in the tubing, and then leaning back to hold it in palce would work. The only downside is when you come to remove the tape -- ouch!

Subject: RE: Disc Problems

Dear Dr. Pressman,

A young friend in his twenties has developed fairly severe disc problems. While in the service, he was sent to one of their best hospitals for assessment and treatment of recurrent back pain. At that hospital or another, during assessment, he underwent a discography (spelling?). As a result of this procedure, he developed an infection of the discs which they treated with IV antibiotics. Still, he has been diagnosed with and suffers from osteomylitis and discitis. He is quite incapacitated at times, and the future is uncertain. I believe he's been told surgery holds a 50% chance of either making him better or making him worse. No chance he will emerge the same.

Do you think ozone funneling would be helpful? If so, do you have any suggestions regarding method, time, concentration, etc.? Any other suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

Lainie

Dear Lainie,

We have had excellent success with discs by funneling on the back. It is slow, but it works.

1) Start him taking acidophilus every day.
2) Get him to do a liver cleanse every two weeks, for 6 weeks.
3) Wet the area over the discs that are affected. Then hold the funnel in place. Set the flow rate at 1/32 l/m. Turn on the ozone generator. Treat for 30 minutes. If there is more than one disc involved, do 30 minutes per disc.
4) Continue daily for a minimum of 3 months.
5) Never, ever go near a 'back doctor' again. They are the worst of the lot, in my experience.
