Dr. Pressman,

Since startin ozone, around ten sessions 20 mins vaginal, 5mins ears over a period of about 5 months for Lymes.

I have noticed my body is covered with tiny red pin pricks (petechiae). I would appreciate any thoughts on what you think this reaction is.

Also how long can a die off effect last, I feel very spacey and more dizzy for weeks after.

Thanks
Joan.

Dear Joan,

That is the famous red rash, well known to practitioners of ozone therapy. It is a sign that the body is in flat-out healing mode, and the release of toxins is exceeding the liver's ability to process them. The body responds to this situation by forcing the toxins out through the skin, causing the rash.

The rash can be minimized by doing a series of liver cleanses, and by taking protease, an enzyme the breaks down long chain proteins (which is the form that the toxins are in).

Die-off can last for a long time. As long as there is debris being released and insufficient oxygen to oxidize it all, you will get die-off symptoms. The best way to combat them is to do more ozone, but that assumes that you are able to handle an even higher rate of healing. The effect must be at a level that allows you to function, so all things must be taken into consideration.

I was talking to some people the other day and they were saying that a round of flu had gone through their neighbourhood and they both got it. One of them decided to do a couple of ozone saunas to combat it. She got even sicker, but it only lasted a day and a half, and then she was almost as good as new. The other person didn't do the saunas, and had it for a week, albeit at a lower intensity than her friend. This gives you some idea of what is entailed.

Best of Health!
