Hi -

Is there any information about using ozone to treat chondromalasia in the knee of a 24 year old male (my son). He has been suffering from it for a couple of years, has had arthroscopic sugery (unsuccessful) and was at one time a very active soccer player. Any guidance would be appreciated.

June

Dear June,

Chondromalasia is a degnerative condition of the knee, sometimes called arthritis of the knee, although cartilage is often involved. It is mainly due to overuse, and is therefore seen in athletes most frequently.

If you were to bag the knee and apply ozone treatments daily, it would undoubtedly improve the condition. Whether it can completely resolve it is unknown, but it certainly will reduce the pain.

Best of health!
