Hi Katie,

The burn is from the bacteria being killed off (for lack of a better term), the itching.. is hard to explain.. it is also from bacteria dieing off and very closely resembles a yeast infection and is very unpleasant but part of the healing in that it will get better instead of continue on like a yeast infection. If you feel itching or burning while doing insufflation I generally err on the side of caution and stop for that day and then resume the next day. You can chose to continue on, knowing, however that that will mean the itching and burning *could* be worse after the insufflation is done. It isn't really a delayed reaction. The ozone works in your body long after you finish applying it, so it is just a different level of cleansing.

You are not loosing ground by doing an amount that results in you being able to handle the healing response. As long as you are still getting the healing response you are still getting ahead. Remember when I was at my most intense doing my ears I could only do 20 seconds every two weeks. And during that two weeks my ears weeped, seaped, itched and burned to beat the band. I could not have tolerated the burning from doing ozone again during that 2 weeks period. I lost no ground, I continued to cleanse that area that was tolerable and in the end came out clean.

No matter what flow rate I use I always aim to insufflation for 30 minutes. But more important than watching the clock is listening to your body and following that message. If you can only do 15 minutes today, then so be it... try again tomorrow.

I have had the vaginal fluid enter into the catherter and never really thought about it to be honest... I was continuing to see good effect so I wasn't overly concerned about it. I wouldn't worry about it.

I hope that helps, sorry for the delay in answering... life!:)
