Ionizers vs. Ozone

Dear Tim,
1) Ozone made from pure oxygen is superior to ozone made from air. There will be
only oxygen and ozone in a mixture.
Air contains dust and pollen and hydrocarbons and solvents and carbon monoxide
and sulphur dioxide and a lot of other pollutants. Ozone made from air will
contain those things as well, and maybe some nitric oxide as well.
2) To breathe ozone for therapeutic reasons, it is necessary to bubble it
through olive oil. The ozone is transformed into an ozonide C10H18O3, which is
safe for the lungs in moderate amounts (10 - 20 minutes of breathing). This is
very effective for eliminating asthma.
3) Ozonated water is not the same as ionized water. Ozonating water may shift
the pH a small amount upward (towards alkaline), but not much. It will clean the
water superbly, and after that, will remain in the water for a short time. If
you drink the water before the ozone leaves, you will benefit from it, and
bacteria living in the stomach and intestine and (eventually) bladder can be
eliminated in this way.
Ionizing water will change its pH, and if done properly, can cause water to
become more alkaline in one side of a divided chamber, while the other side
becomes more acidic. Whether drinking the alkaline water will produce health
benefits is unproved, in my opinion. Drinking hard water that has dissolved
minerals in it (calcium carbonate) is good for you, but is it because of the
alkalinity, or because of the calcium? I have yet to see any studies. I would be
appreciative if you could forward any, if you have them.
If you are looking for an air cleaning device, in my opinion the best one is
from Aranizer at
http://www.aranizer.com
That is the one that I have been
using continuously for 18 months, with no problems. They are also the cheapest.
You can even buy a 25 year warranty from them.
If you want to ozonate water, you could look at Portazone, which is a little
more.
If you are looking for medical equipment, that can also do air and water, try
http://www.plasmafire.com, which is the most expensive.
It all depends on your needs and requirements.
Best of Health
