Subject: urethral inflammation
Dear Dr. Pressman
I could not find any posts regarding fmale urethral inflammation.
Can this problem be treated at home?
If yes , what's the best way to do it and how ?
All the best,
Andrew
Ps. Happy New Year !
Dear Andrew,
This can be addressed at home with urethral insufflation.
While seated on the toilet, the lady would gently insert a lubricated
(olive oil or Vitamin E is good) catheter into the urethra. As the ring
muscle of the bladder is penetrated (about 2" - 3" in), urine will flow
out of the catheter into the toilet.
Then the catheter can be connected to the silicone output tubing coming
from the generator (careful not to let urine enter the generator -- keep
it higher than the lady's shoulder height).
Then the tank valve is opened, and the flow rate is set on the regulator at 1/32
l/m. The generator is turned on and ozone gas is allowed to enter the bladder
for 1 - 5 minutes. The bladder has a small volume, so the procedure
is always of short duration.
Then the catheter is gently withdrawn, with the gas still coming out. This
will serve to clean the entire urethral tract of bacteria or viruses which
may be involved with inflammation. Once the catheter comes clear of the body,
the generator is shut off, the regulator closed and the tank valve closed.
If any urine has inadvertently entered the silicone tubing, take it out by
disconnecting the tubing from the generator and flushing it out with water.
Then hang up the tubing to dry externally, and run some oxygen through the
tubing direct from the tank to dry out the interior.
Urethral insufflation may work with just two or three applications, but may
take more if there is involvement from higher up (ureters, kidneys).
Best of Health!
