Subject: Ozonating Colonic Water

Does anyone know how the temperature of water affects ozonation? Does it just take longer to ozonate warm water or will it not reach as high of concentration as cold water? Is it worthwhile ozonating water for colonics given the fact that the water is body temperature? Is there a chart or graph that shows the ORP or ozone content of ozonated water relative to water temperature?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Dear Paul,

The colder the water, the longer ozone will stay in it. If you freeze ozonated water, it will stay for months, maybe even years.

But, if you install a venturi injector inline, the temperature of the water is irrelevant. I can get top quality Kynar venturis for about $100.

Subject: How to ozonate the water for a colonic

Dear Dr. Pressman;

How can I most effectively ozonate the water I'm using for a colonic? My system uses a 5 gallon tank with a hose running into it for running the water from your sink and another hose running out of the 5 gallon tank to the speculum. Since a quart of water takes me 15 to 20 minutes to ozonate to a medically therapeutic level, how long is it going to take to make the 5 gallons of water ozonated effectively?

What I'd like best is a way to insert ozone into the tube coming out of the 5 gallon tank just before it's used for the colonic. How can I do that?

Is it okay to use water run through a Multipure Filter or does it have to be distilled water?

What's the warmest I can have the water and still have the ozonation remain effective for say, half an hour?

Thank you very much for this excellent forum! Laura

Dear Laura,

To insert the ozone into water coming from the tank, you would need a venturi, but it won't work well at low flow rates, unless you have a sealed system.

Five gallons is a lot of water to ozonate, so you would be better off to use just a gallon at a time. You can use room temperature water, but that is still going to feel cool. With a sealed system (like the professional colon therapists use) you could use any temperature water you want, because the ozone cannot offgas into the air.

Set it up with just a gallon of water from your filter that is about 70 degrees F. Ozonate it for an hour. Then do your colonic right away.

You would get a better therapeutic effect from doing rectal insufflation without the water (after an enema), because the water is going to take half the ozone, no matter how long you ozonate it.
